Disaster relief for the people of Haiti

Let's all try and help… Every little bit counts!
On 12 January, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in its wake devastation so overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from the outside to cope. As a Stampin’ Up! Customer, you can help make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of this earthquake by purchasing the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set.

From now until 28 February 2010, $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set you sell will be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Reflief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Prints altered frame

Just a quick post to share, this is part of a Secret Santa present I made just before Christmas, there were a few other items as well and was quite certain I had taken photos… but I guess did not.  It was a little challenging as the frame stands over 12 inches tall and I had to join the Urban Oasis (Kiwi Kiss coloured) background paper so you couldn't tell that I had joined 2 sheets..  I think I did quite well, if I can say so myself.

I covered the whole frame in Stampin' Up! Designer Print Paper, sanded the edges, added the embellishments, dyed flowers and glued down some pearls from the pretties kit, added white taffetta and Kiwi Kiss Ribbon… A Martha Stewart punch was used for the white lace border and every scallop had a tiny white Kaiser Pearl, the detail doesn't quite show up in the photo.

then stamped some butterflies (Butterfly Prints stamp set) and punched them out with the matching butterfly punch and… Voila! ~  a very unique present.

The Butterfly Prints Stamp set and butterfly punch are featured in the current Summer Mini Catalogue and are available for purchase through me :)

A little about stamping classes and Stampin' Up! workshops...

As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I enjoy sharing my love of papercrafting and stamping with people of all creative levels. I offer weekly classes, product shares as well as precut kits and am happy to help you earn FREE product by Hostessing a workshop of your own (your place or mine). If you are interested in stamping or want to learn more please feel free to contact me

I enjoy teaching smaller classes from my home as I feel that this allows me to not only demonstrate new techniques and projects better however it also gives everybody a good view, better focus and when using equipment there is no waiting time as there would be if the class is larger.
Classes can also be held in your home, if you can get a group of 5 friends together I will bring the class to you! Children's classes are also available.

Workshop hosting is another type of class... A workshop is a free introductory class which might be perfect to introduce some of your non stamping friends to the hobby whilst also having the opportunity to earn free Catalogue products and stamps. Workshops are usually held in your home howevever I am happy to offer my home if preferred.

My little Penguin Box is now in the Tutorial Section of my webpage :)

I have posted a tutorial in the Tutorial section... I had totally forgotten that I even had that link lol, I was going to put it into the off the page section and then remembered that when this webpage was designed that a section was added specifically for tutorials.  Here are all the Stampin' Up! punches I used to make this project happen.

I had a couple of issues with the size of the photos I will however replace the photos with larger files
in time to come.

They're such cute little boxes which would even look cute on the Christmas table as table decorations or little treat boxes hanging on a Christmas tree for the little ones.

If you have any questions I am always happy to help :)

Snow Swirled Stampin' Up! stamp set using a Pigment Ink Pen to accent your cards

Hello everyone, I'm still doing really well posting every day!  I bet you are all surprised - I know I am :) ...  I guess it's setting my mind to do something and then seeing it all the way through.

Well here is a set of Christmas cards using two of the in colours Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red and the Snow Swirled Stamp set... only here I have used the So Swirly wheel and outlined some of the swirls with my pigrment ink marker to hightlight the background a little more.

On the second card I also stamped a little image of the holly leaf from the Christmas Classics set under the sentiment.

The sentiment stamp is from the hostess set Best Yet, it is shown on page 19 of the main Stampin' Up! catalogue and is one of the most versatile hostess stamps sets that I have ever used.  If you would like to own me contact me I'd love to help you achieve some hostess benefits for hosting a workshop. ... (and by the way ..... no workshops are not daunting, they are fun!  Consider it a stamping class in your home where you get to share your hobby with others.  Most of the time someone attending gets totally hooked on stamping and then you have a stamping friend to share your ideas with.  Some of my best friends are my stamping friends.

It's a Stampin' Up Christmas ~ A Wish for Peace and Season of Joy Cards

Hello everyone :) I have actually posted now for 5 days in a row!  I'll try my best to keep it going as I have some more Christmas cards to share before I start uploading some cards using the new Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Stamps and papers.

The two cards today that I am sharing with you are using both the A Wish for Peace stamp set and the Season of Joy set.

I love the way those snow flakes look so soft.  I embossed the Season of Joy Christmas tree stamp with white Stampin' Up! embossing powder.

It never ceases to amaze me just how much detail Stampin' Up! stamps and embossing powder seem to produce,  in the past I have used different embossing powders but they never really managed to capture all the finer details of the images but rather melt the embossing powder a little more solid.  I have experimented with finer detail embossing powders (of various brands)  and I have to say that ours ~  the Stampin' Up! brand is still my preferred embossing powder.

If you would like to see how your own embossing powder performs, just try and emboss a finely detailed sentiment stamp.  Or perhaps to try out the difference between the different emossing powders come along to one of my classes and we'll have a little product comparison session.

Stampin' Up! Punch Pals and Punches

I made my own teacher's gifts for this year :)  and they loved it.  I enjoyed making all of the different items , I couldn't even pinpoint which one was the most fun!  The stamping on candles class was enjoyed by everyone, we used the Stampin' Up! Punch Pals Stamp set for the tags as well as the candles.  They turned out really cute I think! Stamping on acetate is fun, making my own boxes was very fast, I stamped onto the cellophane bags and filled them with chocolates , the tags to put into the boxes were  varied as some were just stamped and punched whereas others were coloured in with blender pens, markers and aqua markers
There are 2 little triangle boxes which we made using punches, I will be posting tutorials for these soon as I have been asked exactly which punches did I use... so stay tuned, I'm working on it and I will post the instructions in my "off the page" section.

Have to say I LOVE the little penguin, and the best part is that I designed him all by myself because I thought that a little heart shaped punch for his face would really make him look extra cute. I am posting these pictures quite large so you can see the detail... hope it helps

Stampin' Up Christmas card using Christmas Classics stamp set

This card uses the Christmas Classics stamp set, (6 stamps for $45.95) and I coloured the image on the first card using the Stampin' Up! markers (for precise control over colours) so the Holly berries would be red and the leaves would be green.  For the second card I stuck on little pearls as Holly berries -  I used Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red.

These were very fast cards which are perfect for making a large quantity of Christmas cards in the one sitting.

TIP:  The first card has sponged edges, especially around the Kiwi Kiss....which I believe really does lift the image that little bit more :)  - it stands more in real life than in the photo...

Spotlight On Christmas

A very simple card using the Stampin' Up! Spotlight on Christmas Stamp set.  This set is an absolute joy to use as it co-ordinates with all the punches and is not only ideal for Christmas Tags and cards but also for background images.

Here I have used Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss and stamped out the Poinsettia with the 5 Petal flower punch.
