Another Print Poetry Designer Series Card

Hi Everyone,

Another card to share today, this one also uses the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper.  I'm really loving this combination, just Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Midnight Muse.  Love the little in colour Dahlia in the middle.  I think a 'yellow' Summer Starfruit Dahlia will make a perfect Daisy centre..  will have to have a play.. :)  I'll make this card again, it was so fast and easy, and perhaps spray it with a little gold shimmer paint to pick up the little gold highlights in the Designer Paper.

Technique Tip:

Make your own Glimmer Mist.   If you haven't tried this as yet, you should!  It's so much fun, you just get some Rubbing Alcohol (Isocol  ~ available at Woolies and at your local chemist) and pour it into a Stampin' Spritzer Bottle(find it on page 179 of main catalogue - 2 bottles are $4.95) add a little bit of Gold Shimmer Paint, about 1/2  teaspoon (find it on page 158 of main Catalogue $9.95) give it a good shake and then spritz your project for a subtle gold shimmer.  Works so well and is so much fun, because the paint is in alcohol, after spraying it's dry in seconds ...for a wow effect that's so easy!  You will have enough paint make up at least 15 bottles, so you can see it goes a very long way and works out very cheap, you can also add a few drops of reinker into this if you wish.

Just a quick note about the colours that are being discontinued from July onwards (see post below) These colours are selling out fast, even before it's our end of Stampin' Up! year.  The reinkers for Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, River Rock and Pretty in Pink are already sold out.  The Regal & Bright Watercolor Crayons are all gone as well.

Hexagon card for my mum

Hello everyone!

Just a quick card to share today, I love quick cards..  Click on the card, I've uploaded it nice and big :)

I kind of had this going around in my head before I made it.  Mum has this quilt on her bed and it is so similar to these lovely colours and patterns found in the Print Poetry Designer Series paper stack that it really did not take too much figuring out on my part.

Mum loves quilting and I think this card will really speak to her.  I so love this new embossing folder, it  is such a versatile folder that looks great for masculine cards and feminine cards.  

At first I thought it would take me forever to cut out the little hexagons but once I started snipping it really only took 5 minutes to cut all these out.

A new Colour Refresh

Hi All,

Stampin' Up! have announced last night that we are making some colour changes again just to stay current with the trends out there.  They are not very big changes, in fact I think you are really going to love the little changes that they have made, I do :)

There are 10 new colours (most of which are retired colours now being reintroduced into the main colour palette)  only 3 are brand new never seen before colours.  So take a look, I have a chart and a video about this change for you.

So just to clarify a little..  basically all the colours are current until the start of the new Catalogue, which for us here in Australia is the beginning of July 2013.  You will be able to buy the retiring colours until they run out (last day to order June 30th if stock is available) so if there is a favourite that you know you are going to miss, you might want to think about ordering some cardstock or a reinker, or marker in that particular colour probably sooner rather than later in order to save disappointment.

Stampin'  Up! also wish to advise that the watercolour markers and the watercolour crayons are going to be discontinued as there are unforeseen problems with the supplier.  So if you love your watercolouring this might be the time to buy these before they are no longer available.  I can honestly say that the crayons are delight to watercolour with and I won't be giving mine up in a hurry.

In the USA the watercolor pencils and the Brights Watercolor Wonder Crayons stocks are already depleted.  Lucky for us that Stampin' Up! Australia still has all four colour families in stock.  So get 'em before they're gone!  We're a little bit lucky there :)

Some pretties to share..

Hi Stampers,

More Christmas Card updates

Snowflake Card

Hello everyone :)
I'm back.. finally at long last.  I wanted to share with you some of the projects I made for the Heartfelt Stampin' Up! Event in Brisbane. I have also entered my card in the Merry Monday #43 Card Challenge over at Always Playing with Paper.

It is a clean and simple card which I made with the new Snow Flurry Bigz Die, Champagne Glimmer Paper, Very Vanilla Card and the new Delicate Doilies Sizzlitx die.

Isn't the embossed border along the bottom beautiful!  I used one of the two Delicate Designs Embossing Folders, the sentiment in the middle of the snowflakes is from the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set and of course I used some Crumb cake tulle (available in the Holiday Catalogue) to tie the little bows.  The snowflakes are  lifted off the page with Stampin Dimensionals and the ink I used is Early Espresso.

Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Event

Hello my stamping friends,

So much to tell you..  I recently attended the Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Regional Event which is for Demonstrators  and their guests..  yes you heard right, if after reading this post you feel that you might like to come with me next year, let me know and we'll go together!

I have a lot of photos to show you of the actual event, and even more to tell you.  Firstly I was asked to make some samples of some product and display it for everyone to see.. All goodies from the new catalogue! and I also worked in the product playground which is where we all get to play with the new products.  I was assigned to the bigshot table and was very lucky to be able to work along side two other very talented ladies, Jacqui Crouch and also Rebecca Goreman.

The day itself was simply amazing we participated in classes which were run by other Demonstrators as well as Stampin' Up! Staff.  The venue was amazing, so much daylight, so much room and unbelievably well organised.  There were Display tables, Display boards, continuous demonstrations, and best of all the new products were all on display.  We were able to see the new fabrics and papers, the new cutters and guillotines , heat tool, scented embossing powders, dies and framelits, embossing folders and to have a play with everything.  We had lunch, make and takes and lots of time to catch up with many Demonstrators.  Some Demonstrators came up from Melbourne because they felt they wanted to attend the event a second time because it was so good!  Amazing hugh!

We were given a new stamp set as a Christmas present (The new "Heart of Christmas" stamp) and we all received products and stamps to play with and to take home as well.

So without much further ado.. here are some photos :)   The first one you will see is a Banner, two ornaments and some cards which I made and I will upload some more detailed pics of these in the next couple of days for you.

Amazing creativity!!  wouldn't you agree, there are some very talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators here in Queensland !  

It really was a special day and I have to say what I loved the most was that every single person attending made a 3D ornament from the new Ornament Keepsakes Bundle and we all had to write a heartfelt message inside our ornament.  All of these ornaments were then hung onto a Christmas tree, it looked amazing.  In return we were given the Heart of Christmas Stamp as a present.  I asked Aaron Scott, who is the Regional Manager of Stampin' Up! Australia, what they would be doing with all the beautiful ornaments..  and his reply was that they were going to take them home to Sydney and decorate the Christmas tree in the Sydney Office. Such a lovely thought!  Now our ornaments with all the lovely messages are on a perfectly decorated tree at the offices of Stampin' Up! Australia displaying all of our heartfelt wishes and love in the form of handmade creativity.  So nice!!
