Stampin' Up! Blog Candy ~ Convention 2010 …………Prize Give Away

Hello my lovely Stamping Friends !!!!

BLOG CANDY !!! MY FIRST ONE ….WOOHOO!

Tomorrow morning I am heading down to Sydney with Petronella, a fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. We're headed to the Stampin' Up! Convention.  I am so excited, to say the very least, to be attending my very first Stampin' Up! Convention.   :)

Yes, I am taking down my snazzy Canon Camera and will be taking lots of photos of all the Cards, displays and creative items made by fellow demonstrators to share with you.  I'll post them BIG and DETAILED !  because I have this amazing Canon 50D Camera with these lenses that I'm still learning about (lol - it was my Christmas present, and I was very very spoilt because they are L lenses - something the professionals use.. ok I need to take some time out to learn the difference,  hugh??)

Back to Convention talk,  we arrive home on Monday morning, (Greg is coming with me!!  how sweet is that!) … so, do stay tuned because I shall be listing a lot of photos of the event ! :)  Can you tell that I am excited!!  If you would like a CD of the photos of all the displays I'm happy to send one to you, anywhere in the world, however I would appreciate if you could cover postage and cost of the CD or DVD. (No other charges involved)

My swap is a brayered card ~ Bird on a Branch Stamp Set is my inspiration.  Will have a lot to share. I shall try to post while I am in Sydney!

On another note I have hit the 10,000 views on my Blog!!  Now that is something to celebrate about !!  It  totally got away from me,  I can't believe I've missed it! so I am going to have a little give away for a pack of Kiwi Kiss Cardstock, a card kit with instructions and something that is going to be an exclusive item from the STAMPIN' UP! CONVENTION 2010 in Sydney and will not be available for purchase anywhere else!!

All you have to do is to tell me what your current favourite Stampin' Up! stamp set (fromt the 2010 Catalogue) is and subscribe to my updates, and you're in the draw!!  Let's get excited about Convention together!! Woohoo!!   The winner will be drawn on the 26th of May at 5pm (Australian time) … 7 days from now  { Stampin' Up! Demonstrators are not eligible to enter } but you can still get a CD or DVD from me, just leave a comment because I know what it feels like when you can't go ~ for whatever reason :(

Talk soon, so glad you follow my blog :) …. Hugs & more hugs :0)

Pretty in Pink Fun and Fast Notes

I must be still in Mother's day mode, as I'm still enjoying flower cards :) I used the Sweet Always Designer Print Paper and teamed it up with Regal Rose, and Pretty in Pink.  These two pinks always look so nice when put together with some whisper white card.

I embossed the Whisper White Card with the new  Perfect Polka Dots Stampin' Up! embossing folder.  It it is very similar to a Cuttlebug folder, and I must confess that I do own both however I like using the Stampin Up embossing folder better as the polka dots are spaced just a little further apart which I feel makes it just a little easier to align the paper and die cuts when I emboss.. so I don't have dots cut in half.. if that makes sense.  You'll just have to try it to see what I mean, it really does make a difference as the actual folder is also wider and longer than the CB brand and the spaces in between the dots are more open.

See the cute little Tiny Tags stamp set and the matching tiny tag punch which I used for the sentiment, sooo cute!  And the little brad in the middle of the Pretties Kit flower.. they're going to be available in the new 2010 Idea Book and Catalogue released in September…  and I think it's quite likely that we will get a white HodgePodge Kit to match.  How good is that!!

The actual image is from Fun & Fast Notes Stamp Set, I left the sentiment off.  If you are considering purchasing this stamp set or already own  it, a great idea is to cut the sentiment off and mounting it on the side of your wood block so that you have 8 Sentiments and 8 images for stamping. It makes your stamp set much more versatile.  I coloured the image with an Aqua Painter and then added a little bit of Stickles Star Dust, although Dazzling Diamonds teamed up with a Fiskars Glue Pen works probably even better because it's dry instantly.

I am busy making Cards for swapping at the Stampin' Up! Convention held in Sydney next Friday.  I am so excited to be going :)  I have very inky fingers as we speak as I have been brayering late into the night and having so much fun.  We're actually doing some brayering in class tomorrow which I am sure my ladies are going to be very happy about.  Talk soon, hope you got some inspiration from my card :)

Pendant Park

Hello my lovely readers :)

A quick card to share today using my brand new Pendant Park Stamp Set from the current Stampin' Up! Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue.  I bought this stamp set because I wanted to use the tree as a background stamp and I still have to try that.

I'm quite happy how this card turned out...I think it's a clean looking card with very simple lines.  The top layer sits higher than the base as I have used Stampin' Dimensionals.

The image on the base card was stamped first then using a stamp-a-ma-jig I postioned the tree image onto the top card perfectly so it floats right on top.

I'm loving this stamp set… the two little squirrels are having a cute little chat on the park bench, I cut the park bench out by hand and raised it up a little with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I also really like the border at the bottom because it is quite masculine so this stamp will come in handy for manly cards….  Maybe I will make a few of these cards this weekend for my swap at Stampin' Up! Convention.  I have made three cards just can't decide which one to chose… a Pirouette Pink and Kraft card or one in Baja breeze.. or maybe this one. OK I've probably said way too many times how much I like this stamp set :)  It's cute hugh?

Card Recipe
Card:     Whisper White; Sahara Sand
Ink:        Basic Black
Stamps:  Pendant Park ~ Stampin' Up!
Other:     Stampin' Dimensionals, Word Window Punch

Beautiful Blog Award

Hello Everyone,

I got a lovely surprise yesterday, I was nominated for a Blog Award, not just once but twice :) by two very talented ladies Linda and Kirsty

Here is my award

There are so many lovely blogs out there that I am finding it challenging to narrow it down to only ten... now I must pass this award on to 10 other beautiful blogs and also share 10 things about myself with you.

The ten ladies that I would like to pass this award on to have really beautiful blogs! Very inspiring places to visit, I'm sure you will spend a lot of time looking at all the beautiful creations these clever ladies have made:
On to the next part.. 10 things about myself:

1. I was born in Hamburg Germany and we moved to Australia when I was 11 years old

2. I'm a hopeless romantic and love a good cry when I watch a movie.  When Greg and I first met he sent me flowers right around the world to every hotel I stayed in for 14 days ..  no wonder I married him :)

3. I love anything pretty and feminine yet I don't have very many girly dresses and clothes in my wardrobe. (hmm .. now that I see that in print I must work on that)

4. My favourite colour is pink, pink pink.. and I would have had this blog pink but who wants to go with the flow when it's more fun to be original.

5. I was a Flight Attendant with Qantas for 20 years working on the international routes, I left to be a stay at home mum and although I love being at home I terribly regret having left flying…  it was too much fun!

6. I'm a terrible procrastinator as I get sidetracked so easily which makes me lose focus.

7. I need glasses for driving but usually don't wear them (naughty, naughty me)

8. I love fishing, especially reef fishing for anything big that puts up a good fight

9. I love going camping, in fact I prefer it to fancy hotels.

10. I got an award in Highschool because I came first in woodwork and metalwork for the year and beat all the boys lol :)  he he

Shabby Chic Vintage Vogue

Hello everyone,
I am showing you today yet another Vintage Vogue Card creation of mine, can you tell I love this stamp set.  The flowers were stamped onto Very Vanilla Card with Regal Rose and Soft Suede inks, cut out and the edges sponged.

The card base is Kraft stamped and sponged with Soft Suede. The second layer is Blush Blossom over which I rolled the matching wheel Very Vintage in Blush Blossom ink. I have not used any Designer Paper, I made my own ;)

I used a Martha Stewart punches and Nestabilities fo further "frilly" up the card some more :)  Love anything girly…

Notice the cute tags I used, the new "Medium jewelry Tag" punch for only $20.95 has been getting a bit of a work out lately.

These little tags give you another option to add just the right the sentiment onto a card when you are ready to use it so it's perfect for the right occasion.  It would be really great for writing the date on in Scrapbook Layouts as well. So cute! Hope you liked my card for today :0)
